The Hutchinson School Board Monday approved a contract that will help the district build on a nationally-recognized career education program.

The board approved a contract with the Southern Regional Educational Board to provide Enhanced Career Technical Education Programs training at Hutchinson High School and the district’s Career and Technical Education Academy.

The training will build on the Outstanding Technology Centers That Work Center Award the CTEA received over the summer. The award is based on the success of academy leaders and teachers in improving center practices and increasing the quality of experiences provided to students.

CTEA staff will be challenged to developed project based instruction in career fields that are high wage, high skill and in considerable demand.
