WICHITA – Following the Kansas Collegiate Athletic College Men’s Basketball Media Day, votes were tabulated for both the KCAC Coaches’ and Media Preseason Polls. McPherson College takes the top spot in each poll, with seven first place votes in the Coaches’ Poll and 3 in the Media Poll.

In the Media Poll, Bethany College and Sterling College share the number two ranking. Bethany received six first place votes in the Media Poll, while Sterling received two. Conversely, Sterling received the final three first place votes in the Coaches poll and stand alone in the number two spot, behind McPherson.

During the 2010 – 2011 season McPherson (21-14, 11-7) lost to Sterling ( 21-11, 14-4) in the KCAC Championship Tournament; Sterling also won the KCAC regular season. Bethany (14-16, 11-7) fell to McPherson in the Semifinals of the KCAC Tournament.

Both the Bulldogs and Warriors competed in the NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball National Championship Tournament. McPherson defeated Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Fla.) and Warner Pacific College (Ore.) before losing to Cornerstone University (Mich.) in the quarterfinal round. Sterling fell in a first-round overtime game to Oklahoma Wesleyan University.
