A Hutchinson man already charged with two counts of aggravated assault and criminal damage to property can add three more counts to the case against him.

Deandre Pannell was bound over on the initial three counts but at the end of a preliminary hearing in the case, Senior Assistant District Attorney Steve Maxwell told the court that he was adding three additional counts, including aggravated battery and two counts of criminal threat.

This for an incident on July 5, of this year when he allegedly took a vehicle that didn’t belong to him without permission and when the victims in the case confronted him to get the vehicle back, he allegedly came out of the vehicle he was in at some point, broke a window in a van the victims were in and threatened them with a hatchet. One of the victims testified that she was terrified and injured in the incident from broken glass. That included her arms, her tongue and her bottom from sitting on the glass. She was apparently talking to him when he broke the glass causing some to enter her mouth.

Magistrate Judge Randy McEwen granted the states request to amend the complaint adding the new charges, and he was bound him over on all six charges.

Arraignment in the case will be on November 4, in front of Judge Trish Rose.
