Strataca Soon To Open New Underground Experience

Salt Safari Hiker 8-13

A new, exclusive experience is set to open November 1, at Strataca in Hutchinson. The three hour journey 650 feet below was revealed Monday and will be called Salt Safari. This experience separates itself from the other underground attractions Strataca currently offers.

Salt Safari is an all-new opportunity for those who are 18 years and older. A limited group of hikers will trek miles of tunnels through the rugged and unimproved areas of the mine. Participants will discover natural formations of geological history only a select few have seen – until now.

“Hiking underground in the raw mine is awesome and exciting, and now, we can finally share this opportunity with other adventure-loving adults,” said Linda Schmitt and Gayle Ferrell of Strataca. “Salt Safari is the ultimate, authentic Salt Mine expedition and we know participants will love it as much as we do. Be ready for an amazing experience that can’t be found anywhere else!”

Salt Safari will be offered on Friday afternoons. Advanced reservations for the hike will be required and is separate from Strataca’s general admission prices.
