A 36-year-old Hutchinson man with now three cases pending in Reno County District Court is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Thursday.
Joshua Rund was earlier arrested on charges of direct contempt when Deputy District Attorney Tom Stanton asked that he be taken to Court Services to be given a drug test. Rund apparently failed to do so, and warrants were issued.
Rund had been arrested on September 6, for charges of criminal possession of a firearm, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Also arrested was 32-year-old Ellen Rund on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She is free on bond and is still apart of the waiver-status docket.
The two had apparently gotten a room at 2605 East 4th, but were arrested in the 1100 block of East 11th.
Rund has a fairly substantial criminal history with convictions for manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of ephedrine, drug paraphernalia, two previous convictions for criminal possession of a firearm in cases from 2002 and 2003. .
The hearing Thursday is in front of Judge Joe McCarville.
