The Kansas State Fair Board has agreed to raise gate prices from 8-dollars to 10 for gate ticket prices for next years fair, while the advance tickets will rise from 5-to-6 dollars.
According to State Fair Manager Denny Steocklien, the tickets for kids and seniors will not change, they will stay the same.
He says its been 4-years since they made any adjustment to gate prices for the retail tickets and 10-years for the advanced sales.
He says the cost have continued to rise over the years, and being self sufficent, in other words not using tax payer money for daily operations, they needed to make the adjustment.
He also says this may be a good way to push more people to purchase tickets in advance of the fair.
