Hutch Man Arrested On Drug Charges Again

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

A 27-year-old Hutchinson man who had been released from Community Corrections in September of last year on a drug conviction was jailed again for possession of drugs.

Dustin Harper made a court appearance Friday morning where he told the judge that he has a drug problem and is attending treatment daily. But, both the state and the judge agreed that his treatment must not be working all that well at this point.

Harper was arrested in the 1400 block of East 11th, and the judge refused to lower the 35-thousand, 600-dollar bond.

Harper was arrested just after 7 a-m, Thursday for possession of methamphetamine, possession of oxycodone, his third conviction, possession of drug paraphernalia, DUI, felony obstruction no tax stamp and no proof of liability insurance.

He had been on corrections for possession of drugs for a case that goes back to July of 2010.

He should be back in court next Wednesday for a status hearing.
