Another inmate in the Sedgwick County Jail has apparently died of what officials are calling natural causes.
It was around 8:17 p-m, Thursday night when the inmate was found unresponsive in a one man cell. Medical staff arrived in the housing unit and began chest compressions until relieved by EMS and Fire Rescue. 59-year-old John Daniel Price was pronounced dead of apparent natural causes at 8:57 p-m.
He was awaiting trial on felony charges and had been under medical care for various medical conditions while in custody.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation and Sedgwick County Sheriff investigators were notified and a full investigation is being conducted by the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office. An autopsy was also expected to be performed.
This is the third inmate to die of natural causes while in the custody of the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office this year.
