One Suspect In Hazing Case Makes Court Appearance

One of three students at Hutchinson High School arrested in connection with a hazing incident made a court appearance Friday morning.

18-year-old Kendric Hudson appeared before Magistrate Judge Randy McEwen where he was told that he is being charged with three counts of aggravated battery and hazing. The crimes occurring on October 30 & 31, and involves two 15-year-old’s and a 14-year-old.

18-year-old Jaiden Casanova, is charged with just a single count of aggravated battery and hazing. He didn’t make a court appearance after a Wichita entered her appearance in his case.

16-year-old Cody Curl remains in custody for aggravated battery and possession of tobacco.

Judge Patty Mackie Dick decided to keep Curl in juvenile detention because of his criminal record which includes 16-cases of burglary and other cases pending in juvenile court.

The three are accused of using hot coat hangers to brand at least 3 students who had just been promoted to the varsity football team.
