The Hutchinson School Board Monday approved the negotiated agreement with NEA-Hutchinson.
After a brief executive session, the board approved the 2013-14 contract with licensed staff. The contract had gone to impasse and fact-finding earlier this year.
At issue was movement on the salary schedule. While NEA-Hutchinson wanted both movement for an additional year of service and for additional education, the board only felt it could offer movement for additional education.
More recently, the district learned it had additional students for state aid. At a meeting Nov. 6, an offer was made to include both movement for years of service to licensed staff who qualified as well as education.
As we told you earlier, teachers had approved the tentative agreement Friday afternoon.
