The new Reno County Detention facility took another step forward Tuesday. The Hutchinson City Council Approved the final plat for the 21-million dollar jail. The planning commission approved the final plat and the council approved it 5-0 during their agenda session.

Some questions were raised about the drainage issues surrounding the area, but in the end, those concerns were addressed and all is a go for the bid letting that will happen in the next month or two.

The jail will be located on land at the intersection of Severance and Blanchard.
