Hutchinson School Board Approves Classified Pay Increase

The Hutchinson School Board Monday approved a 1- percent pay increase for classified staff. But, they tabled a proposal to increase administrative pay by 1- percent until its Dec. 9, meeting, asking for additional information.

They also approved an agreement with Wichita USD 259, for special transportation for a student to attend Kansas School for the Deaf, and designated surplus items and approved the items’ for sale in December.

The Board met Monday at the Hutcherson Center, the headquarters of three of the district’s early childhood program. The Hutcherson Center, located in the Careyville neighborhood, is the home base for Parents as Teachers, Early Head Start and Head Start.

The Head Start Policy Council was on hand for the meeting so its members could see how their work with Head Start relates to district work. After Monday’s meeting, the Board toured the Hutcherson Center.
