A 21-year-old Hutchinson man arrested for battery-domestic violence, criminal threat and criminal damage made a court appearance Wednesday morning on the charges.

Spencer Smith was arrested after an altercation at his apartment in northwest Hutchinson where he allegedly punched the victim on her arms, legs and torso as well as allegedly choked her and made threats against her.

The incident apparently occurring around 11:40 a-m, Monday morning.

His 2-thousand, 250-dollar bond was set fairly low considering the potential charges. He stated in court that he didn’t think he would get any help with the bond from family saying he thinks they’re pretty disgusted with him right now. He should be back in court in the near future, once the state files formal charges.
