Hutchinson Fire Department, responded to the 1000 block of North Main Wednesday night for the report of a structure fire. The call came in around 9:30 p-m and upon arrival, units found smoke inside the residence and traced it down to the walls around the chimney.

Units were on scene for about two hours. Damage was contained to the walls around the chimney and estimated at 10,000 dollars.

The cause of the fire appears to have been cracks in the fire box which allowed heat and fire to escape into the wall space.

There were eight individuals in the residence at the time of fire, but no injuries were reported.
