The number of conceal carry permits in Reno County skyrocketed this past year over what was a record setting year in 2012. Although the final figures aren’t in yet, the Reno County Sheriffs Office says that more than 600 permits were issued in 2013.

That compares to the 371 issued the previous year. It was a record year for the state as well with more than 24-thousand applications being submitted to the State of Kansas according to the Attorney General Office in Topeka.
