One thing in life is certain: children will throw tantrums, have trouble sharing, ignore directions and generally give parents a run for their money.
While many of these behaviors are to be expected, there are many types of challenging behavior that may seem confusing, inappropriate or even frightening. Some children may act out in violent ways, like biting, kicking, or hitting themselves or others with objects.
If you are concerned that a challenging behavior is starting to become a setback for your child, simply fill out a social/emotional health screening questionnaire provided through the Reno County Health Department (620-694-2900), the Early Education Center (620-615-5850), your health care provider, or your childcare provider. The questionnaire is short and free of charge. Ask for the ASQ:SE questionnaire.
