The trial for a 69-year-old Hutchinson man which was scheduled to begin this week has been continued until next year according to District Judge Trish Rose.

The defense team for Don Adams requested the continuance because they plan to hire their own expert witness according to the judge, so she continued the case till January 30.

Adams faces trial for two counts of aggravated indecent solicitation and three counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child, and three counts of aggravated intimidation of witness or victim.

The three victims pointed the finger at Adams as the one who molested them while they were visiting his home on the east side of Hutchinson. The three little girls, ranged in age from 7- to-11 years old at the time of the alleged crimes which reportedly occurred between June 1, 2008, and December 3, 2009.

The two families were neighbors with Adams and his wife often looking after the girls, even allowing them to spend the night. The girls say the abuse occurring in Don Adams bedroom and also the living room, but one girl stated it happened in the cab of his semi, which he would park next to his home.

Adams was arrested in Salina back on March 17 of last year on a Reno County warrant for the charges after the investigation began by Hutchinson Police.

Judge Rose says they have set aside an entire week for the trial once it actually begins.
