Accident near McPherson sends two Colorado men to the hospital

MCPHERSON – Two people were taken to a McPherson hospital after their vehicle collided with a semi in McPherson County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 45-year-old Casey Russell of Deer Trail, Colorado attempted to make an illegal U-turn on I-135, and in doing so pulled in front of Peterbuilt semi.

Russell and his passenger, 77-year-old James Dwight Blomgren, also of Deer Trail were both taken to Memorial Hospital in McPherson.

The driver of the semi, 79-year-old David Sheets of Loveland Colorado was not injured.

The accident occurring just after 10:30 p-m Tuesday evening near McPherson.
