A 44-year-old man was killed after a one vehicle accident on K-14 in Lyons.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, James Dean Belote of Lyons was south-bound when his vehicle went left of center across the lane into the east ditch and struck a power pole. His vehicle then traveled 65-feet in the ditch before coming to rest facing southeast.

Belote was taken to the hospital in Lyons where he was pronounced dead.

The accident occurring around 12:40 p-m, just south of Avenue K, in Lyons.
