Two men were arrested Sunday evening after the vehicle were in was suspected in a possible child abuse incident at a local convenience store. That included a 26-year-old man with a history of using drugs .
Kiel Bale and Rusty Shawn Decker both face charges of possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to distribute and no drug tax stamp. Bale made a first appearance on the charge Monday morning where his bond set at 6-thousand dollars was lowered to 15-hundred.
The case starts with Officer David Post spotting a black Ford Expedition driving north on Plum from 17th. The vehicle then turned east on 30th, then turned south on Acres Rd. The vehicle then stopped in the 2800 block of Acres, where the officer then made contact with the two men inside.
They discovered Decker had some warrants and was placed under arrest, and then the officer says he smelled marijuana. They discovered a small black container with suspected marijuana, and also inside a speaker box, they found more suspected pot which weighed about 30-grams. Also found was some coin baggies, and a silver scale.
Neither would accept responsiblility for the pot and both were arrested.
Decker was jailed for other charges of criminal damage to property, battery, intentional reckless bodily harm. He’s free on bond and should make an appearance in court at a later time.
