HCC Presidential Finalist Begin Visits on Monday

The four finalists for Hutchinson Community College president will make individual visits to the campus HCC logostarting next week. The school is looking to replace Dr. Ed Berger who will retirement later this summer.

A finalist’s name will be announced shortly before his scheduled visit. All candidates will follow the same, full-day agenda. The interview days are: Monday, April 28; Tuesday, April 29; Friday, May 2; and Monday,

May 5. Hutchpost.com and Eagle Radio will announce the candidates as their names are released.

With the exception of a visit with Dr. Berger in the president’s office, all events during a candidate’s campus visit will be held in the Parker Alumni Room in HCC’s Parker Student Union. The schedule is as follows….

8-9 a-m, President’s Council and Representative Assembly (college vice presidents and department chairmen are in these groups).

9:30-10:30 a-m, Visit with Berger

11-11:45 a-m, Students

Noon-1 p-m, Lunch with Endowment Board

1:30-2:30 p-m, Presidential Search Committee

2:45-3:45 p-m, Faculty and staff

4-5 p-m, Community

6:30-8 p-m, Dinner with Board of Trustees.

The public can attend any of the sessions, said Marla Eriksen, president of the HCC Board of Trustees and head of the search committee, but the 4 to 5 p.m. hour is set aside expressly for members of the community.

The HCC Board of Trustees will meet the night of May 6, and will discuss the candidates in closed session.
