HUTCHINSON, Kan. — For the second time a Spanish company has contracted with Siemens to build and install a wind turbine
farm in Peru. Cobra Energia has agreed with Siemens to install 25, 3.0 mega-watt direct drive turbines and 8 more 2.3 geared systems that will be assembled in Hutchinson.
The new wind power plant is the second project that Spanish wind developer Cobra Energia is executing with Siemens in Peru. In September 2013, Cobra Energia purchased 11 Siemens wind turbines with a total capacity of 32.1 MWs for the Marcona wind project, also using nacelles built at the Hutchinson facility.
