HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Community College is in the process of interviewing its final candidate for the President’s Position.
Dr. Paul Gasparro is currently employed at Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland, Ohio, where he serves as a District Vice President. He has served as the Eastern Campus President/College Vice President, and now serves as District Vice President for Special Initiatives. Before moving to Cleveland, he came from Seminole State College in Seminole, Okla. where he served as vice president of academic affairs and chief academic officer. Prior to arriving at Seminole State College, Dr. Gasparro held progressive positions of academic leadership at Chattahoochee Technical College (GA.) as the vice president of academic affairs, Chattanooga State Technical Community College (TN.) as the dean of business and computer science, and Tyler Junior College (TX).
Dr. Gasparro served from January 1971 to July 1994 in the United States Air Force in a variety of leadership positions before retiring from active duty as an officer to begin his community college career. Dr. Gasparro earned his bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering technology at Colorado Technical College (University) at Colorado Springs, Colo.; a master’s degree in computer resource management at Webster University in St. Louis, Mo.; and a doctorate degree in leadership and college administration from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale,
Fla. Dr. Gasparro is also a graduate of the AACC Future President’s Institute (FPI).
He is married to the former Mary Villalpando. They have three grown children and two grandchildren
