A 21-year-old Hutchinson man was taken to jail early Saturday morning on charged of aggravated assault, criminal possession of a firearm, criminal damage to property and unlawful discharge of a firearm.

Jamie England is jailed on a bond of 6-thousand, 750-dollars after he allegedly pointed a gun at an 18-year-old female, Katie Salmans of 543 East C. The incident occurring in the 1000 block of South Main.

Police says Salmans went to the entrance of Carey Park to confront England over property he may have that belonged to her father, namely a gun, and he then allegedly pulled it out and pointed it at her, putting fear in her for her own safety. She then left, and others present told England that wasn’t a smart thing to do. He then reportedly went into the park where he then fire a round from the gun into the air. He then apparently took the gun back to Salmans father.

Police caught up with the vehicle England was in in the 600 block of East 11 th, where he was then placed under arrest and taken to jail.
