HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A 19-year-old Hutchinson man who has been on probation for possession of marijuana now finds himself facing more serious charges.

Bobby Reed has been charged by the state with sale of marijuana withing a thousand feet of a school, possession of marijuana with intent to sell within a thousand feet of a school, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to package drugs for sale and no tax stamp.

It was back on February 10, when drug detectives were at the Days Inn Motel parking lot to arrest a person for warrants and allegedly observed Reed sell that individual 1/8 of an ounce of marijuana.

A search warrant was then served on his home where they say they found two 1-gallon Ziplock bags of green vegetation that tested positive for marijuana. It weighed around 36-grams. They also allegedly found packaging materials and a digital scale.

The Days Inn is within a thousand feet of Trinity High School and Reed lives across the street from Hutchinson High School.

He is free on bond and his case will move to a waiver-status docket. He also faces a probation violation for the case from last year when he was convicted on the possession charge.
