HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 29-year-old Wichita woman is free on a $5,250 bond after she allegedly struck a pedestrian with her vehicle early Monday morning. Amber Dawn Morris was arrested on suspicion of reckless aggravated battery and DUI.

Her vehicle struck 29-year-old Theodore “Ted” C. Vollnogel in the 1400 block of East 26th.

Vollnogel was transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center and admitted for severe scrapes to his body and fractured ribs.

According to the Reno County Jail log, Morris was booked on the two charges, but has since been released. That means she’ll make a first appearance in court later this week.

The accident occurred just before 2 a.m., in Hutchinson.
