“Ruperts” were dummy paratroopers dropped from airplanes as diversions. The mannequin itself stood half the height of the average man, but looked life-sized when falling from the sky. Upon landing, “Ruperts” would set off fireworks to simulate gun fire.This French high school student portrays an American soldier in the American Cemetery.
