Local man jailed on aggravated indecent liberties charge

sex-crimes

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A local man is jailed on a 25-thousand dollar bond on a single count of aggravated indecent liberties with a child.

Etric Laronne Jones II, was arrested on a warrant for the alleged crime that occurred back on December 13, 2012. District Attorney Keith Schroeder says the victim, a 15-year-old girl at the time didn’t report the crime until February 1, 2013, which led the investigation beginning. Schroeder says he filed the charge against Jones back on December 20, and a warrant was issued for the arrest. That was apparently served on Wednesday.

Jones who was 18 at the time of the crime is alleged to have forced the 15-year-old into having sex. She claims that she told him no, while Jones claims she never said that. Schroeder says the two had left school together and parked in an alley and things escalated from there.

Schroeder says he filed the indecent liberties charge, a level 3 person felony with a sentencing range of between 55 and 247 months in prison.

Unless Jones is able to post the bond, he should make an appearance in court on Friday.
