Hutchinson Monarchs jumped out to an early lead on the Park City Rangers and captured a 14-7 victory on Saturday at Word of Life.

The game was decided quickly as Hutchinson Monarchs exerted its will early with nine runs in the first three innings.

An RBI single by Tyler Bugner in the second inning supplied the early offense for Hutchinson Monarchs.

Michael Herman reached base four times in the game for Hutchinson Monarchs. He scored three runs and had one RBI. He singled in the second, third, and fourth innings.

Tyler Bratton pitched lights out for Hutchinson Monarchs. The Park City Rangers managed just two hits off of Bratton, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his three innings of work.

Bobby Moretti recorded the win for Hutchinson Monarchs even though he allowed six runs over four innings. He struck out four, walked three and surrendered six hits.

Jacob Gibbs took the loss for the Park City Rangers. He allowed 11 runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked one and struck out one.

Hutchinson Monarchs tacked on another eight runs in the third. Joshua Williamsdoubled, scoring Zenon Kolakowski and Trevor Turner to start the inning. That was followed up by Michael’s single, bringing home Joshua.

After pushing across four runs in the bottom of the third, the Park City Rangers faced just a 9-4 deficit. An RBI double by Jackson Boyce, an error, and a two-run double by Eton Chamberlain fueled the Park City Rangers’ comeback.

Hutchinson Monarchs increased its lead with four runs in the fourth. Tyler Bugner kicked things off with a single, scoring Michael. That was followed up by Aaron Bossl’s double, plating Zak Leighton and Kevin Anderson.
