HUTCHINSON, Kan. —The transition is under way for area Bank of America customers as the bank changes ownership. BOA will officially become a part of First Bank of Kansas next month.
First Bank sent out a publication to all of its customers providing a phone number and other information, including a time line for what will take place in June and July. The official transition will happen Friday July 11th when the BOA branch closes. Later that night, all BOA debit and ATM access will be turned off. Any new cards will then be activated Saturday, July 12th, although the branch will remain closed to walk in and drive through traffic. A team of agents will be on hand by telephone during this time and all branches that are a part of the takeover will open under their new name on Monday July 14th.Other smaller changes will continue through early August.
It was back in February that First Bank announced that it had purchased BOA branch in Hutchinson as well as McPherson, Salina, and Lindsborg.
