The Reno County Commission agreed to spend close to 2-thousand dollars to purchase equipment and set up software that would allow them to stream commission meetings over the Internet on the county website, or anyone else who wants to stream it.

The cost would come to 1-thousand, 946-dollars, plus the county will pay a monthly fee of 198-dollars for use of the software. The county would like to have any contract to be on a month to month basis, which means they wouldn’t qualify for the 10% discount on the monthly charge offered for a yearly contract.

The money would be used for two cameras, one of which would face the commissioners, while the other would face the podium. They would also have the capability of putting up graphics or items they want the public to see as well.

There would also be some capability of saving the meetings or archiving them, so someone could look at them later including being able to pick a specific subject without having to watch the entire meeting.

No time line was given for this work to be done, with Commissioner Dan Deming saying at some point they may be able to put recordings of the meetings on the Hutchinson City Channel on Cox Cable 7.
