HUTCHINSON, Kan. —
Nearly a week after a fire swept through their home, a Hutchinson woman remains in critical condition at a Wichita hospital.
Judy King is at St. Francis Regional Medical Center where she is being treated for burns and other injuries. Fire crews were called out to 930 East Sherman Wednesday afternoon, and found the front of the home ablaze. Two people who escaped from the home when the fire started alerted firefighters that there was still one person inside. King was located and pulled from the home just before the fire consumed the room she was in, according to Fire Chief Kim Forbes.
Two other people suffered minor injuries in the fire along with one firefighter. The other firefighters were treated for heat-related illness.
