Two people were injured in a one vehicle accident north of the city Wednesday evening. According to the Reno County Sheriffs Department, 46 year old Jon Engelland of Lyons was going south on Plum when he lost control of his pick up just south of 69th Avenue. The vehicle entered the east ditch and struck two brick walls before rolling onto its top.

Rescue crews had to use the Jaws of Life to extricate Engelland from the vehicle. He was taken by EMS to Promise Regional Medical Center for treatment. A passenger in the truck, 34 year old Mathew Foulk, of Hutchinson was able to free himself from the truck and refused treatment at the scene. The accident happened around 6:45 two miles north of Hutchinson.
