HUTCHINSON, Kan. – With the fourth of July week here, that means residents of Hutchinson will be shooting off fireworks this week.

The Reno County 911 Dispatch Center will have a special non-emergency number for those who have complaints about fireworks, noise, loud music and nuisance complaints.

The number to use for these issues in 694-2790. They decided to offer this line so that the regular 911 line will be open for those with life and death situations or emergencies.

The non-emergency number will be operated by trained 911 staff from 7 a.m. to midnight each day starting Tuesday and continuing through Friday July 4.

Now they want to emphasize that if there is a fire, someone is hurt or there is a verbal or physical disturbance to call the regular 911 line.

Again, this non-emergency line can be used from Tuesday through Friday for non-emergency items.
