The budget, as is, calls for a $2.565 million increase in the budget for next year, which equals about $758,000 in revenue. It also includes an increase in valuation for the city of 3.35% which is adding about $300,000 into the city general fund.

The city is facing the usual increases including a five percent increase in health insurance and a merit step increase in pay for all employees. It also includes the $400,000 increase for the city street program.

The city hopes to have the budget approved by the end of August.
