HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A Hutchinson man was arrested early this morning after police and fire units responded to
several arson fires.
Authorities have Robin Rolland in custody on suspicion of three counts of arson. According to police, several fires were started in trash bins. The fire department says the first was at Avenue A Park and was extinguished by the reporting party before crews arrived. The second was in the unit block of East A , behind Wayne’s Printing. Units arrived and found two dumpsters fully involved. The fire caused about $700 worth of damage to the dumpsters, but no damage to the business. The third blaze was then reported in the 700 block of East 4th at the Kwik Shop corporate offices. Units found another dumpster located next to the building fully involved. Damage to the dumpster is estimated at $350, but again no damage occurred to the building.
There were no injuries reported. Rolland jailed on a bond of $15,000 and should make a court appearance in the next few days.
