HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The unemployment rate for the city of Hutchinson jumped by a half percentage point from the ![]()

previous month, according to figures released today by the Kansas Department of Labor.
The jobless rate for the city in the month of June was 4.9%, up from 4.4% the previous month. It’s still lower than the 5.9% unemployment rate recorded in June of 2013. The County unemployment rate also increased from 4.2% in May to 4.6% in June. It was 5.5% in June of 2013. There were 1,534 county residents without jobs in June — 1,018 of them were in the city of Hutchinson.
Across the state, the jobless rate increased by just a tenth of a percent to 4.9.
