Widespread showers and embedded thunderstorms are expected across the area this evening and overnight as a boundary becomes stationary from Wichita, Kansas to Topeka, Kansas. Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible for areas along and east of the Kansas Turnpike, with the greatest severe weather threat for the counties along the Kansas Oklahoma border, as supercell thunderstorms move northeast out of Oklahoma. Large hail up to golfball size and damaging wind gusts are the main threat, but a tornado cannot be ruled out.
