HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Motorist who use US-50 between Newton and Hutchinson will see some welcome expansion of
the busy two lane, part of the $1.2 billion in construction projects announced by K-Dot Thursday.
Four projects totaling more than $8.4 million are in the works. It includes expsnsion of US-50 from the Harvey/ Reno County line to Burrton and then east of Burrton for one mile. Total cost of the two projects is $4.8 million. The other projects include expansion of a passing lane just east of Halstead and another about five miles east of Halstead costing about 4.1 million.
Bid letting for all four projects is expected in mid 2015.
