WELLSVILLE, Kan. — A Reno County woman was involved in an accident just after 3 p.m. on Sunday in Franklin County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2003 Toyota Avalon driven by Melanie K. Twineham, 64, Hutchinson, was southbound on Interstate 135 five miles south of Wellsville. The vehicle left right hand side of road, the driver over corrected coming back into the lane of travel causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
The vehicle traveled back off the right hand side of roadway through a ditch and came into contact with a tree.
A passenger in the vehicle Marilyn P. Lawrence, 86, Sterling was transported to Ransom Hospital. Twineham was not injured.
The KHP reported both were properly restrained at the time of the accident.
