A 35-year-old Turon man who earlier this week entered not guilty pleas in a meth case was bound over for trial Thursday morning on a charge of kidnapping and a state added charge of criminal threat.

In this case, Justin Armstrong allegedly held his estranged girlfriend against her will. The two were apparently coming to Hutchinson from Turon last February and got into an argument, and at some point she wanted out of the vehicle and he wouldn’t let that happen. She at some point was able to call 911 after he stopped the vehicle in the county, and she was free and ran into a field. She also testified that he threatened to kill her at some point during that altercation and that she pulled a knife kept in the vehicle to protect herself, but testified, he took it away from her.

Judge Joe McCarville found there was probable cause to send the case to arraignment which will be on December 5.

The meth case against Armstrong goes back to July 26, of last year when he’s accused of attempting to flee a deputy just south of Langdon, with the chase lasting about 5-miles.

Armstrong eventually put his Honda Accord in a ditch west of Jordan Springs on Parallel Road according to sheriff officials. He along with the suspected co-defendant, Guy Currie allegedly ran from the scene.

The vehicle was searched and allegedly several items consistent with the manufacture of methamphetamine were found.

Currie was also arrested that night because his drivers license and clothes were found in the vehicle. He was sentenced last week in this case.
