CHENEY, Kan. — Author Mike Gower announced the nationwide release of his new book, “Glad You’re Back,” where he shares real accounts of his ordeals in the Vietnam war.

In “Glad You’re Back,” the author does not claim to be the sole spokesman for all Vietnam veterans. One person cannot make that claim. The author yearns to relate parts of his experience in an effort to educate the present generation of what America is in the time of the Vietnam War. Most of today’s young people have no clue what America was like back then. He hopes to bridge that gap with this book.

Gower enlisted in the U.S. Army at the age of 19 and served two tours in Vietnam. He now lives in Cheney with his wife, Gay.
