NEWTON, Kan. – Two women were injured late Monday or early Tuesday in a stabbing case.

Newton Police responded to the report in the 1000 block of South Kansas. The investigation revealed an altercation led to one female being stabbed in the wrist, and another female suffering from a laceration after being struck on the hand with a hatchet. Neither injury is life threatening.

The suspect remained at large Tuesday, but is not considered to be a threat to the community according to police.
