NEWTON, Kan. – Newton Police officials reported Wednesday that a suspect from the stabbing incident in that city has been arrested, although they didn’t name a suspect. They say on their Facebook page that the investigation is ongoing and further arrests may be made.

Police had responded to the report in the 1000 block of South Kansas. The investigation revealed an altercation led to one female being stabbed in the wrist, and another female suffering from a laceration after being struck on the hand with a hatchet. Neither injury is life threatening.
