HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A McPherson man was killed when he was hit by a train east of McPherson early Sunday morning.
Few details are available, but the McPherson County Sheriff’s Office says 36-year-old Joshua Miller was walking on East 1st Avenue when he was hit by an eastbound Union Pacific freight train. Miler was discovered just before 2 a.m. by a westbound train crew, who notified the Sheriff’s Department. The Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the accident, and is waiting for more information from Union Pacific.
The accident happened about 1/2 mile east of the McPherson city limits.
