HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Downtown Soup and Chili Festival set a record Saturday with 40 entries.

3rd – Matt’s Automotive

Soup:

1st – Fraese Drug Soda Fountain & Grill

2nd – Civitan Club

3rd – Family Community Theater

Big Chili Award for Best Decorated Booth – Lincoln School Food Service (aka The Lunchroom Ladies)

Chili Watch Award for Best Costumes – Family Community Theater

Downtown Hutchinson $100 Gift Certificate Drawing Winner – Bob Schrader

During the Downtown Soup and Chili Festival, the very first Decorate-A-Chair Affair also happened at the Sleep Shoppe and Furniture Gallery. Krystal Keefer-Zeferjahn took her chair and made it into the winning “All Hallow’s Chair.” She won a $500 Shopping Spree to the Sleep Shoppe and Furniture Gallery at 11 N. Main in downtown Hutchinson.
