Suspect in indecent liberties case scheduled for hearing Tuesday
Sex Crimes

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A man charged with aggravated indecent liberties with a child for a case that goes back to 2009 is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Tuesday.

The case for Jesus Martinez-Rubio goes back to December of 2009 when the alleged victim was fifteen. The defendant and the victim had a child together, but he lied to her family over a similar case in Rice County and about other things which led to them reporting the alleged crime here.

It’s believed that Martinez-Rubio may be here in this country illegally.

The hearing Tuesday is scheduled in front of Judge Joe McCarville.

Suspect in drug cases scheduled for court Tuesday

Jeremy-Jiles-150x150

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The 26-year-old man arrested for the sale of drugs and charged with racketeering is expected in court Tuesday on that case, then in another courtroom on another.

Jeremy Jiles waived his preliminary hearing in one case against him from last year, while three other cases against him from this year were combined into one complaint and includes a charge of racketeering. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for this case.

The latest arrest came in June and he is charged with being in possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to package drugs, possession of a personal use drug paraphernalia, criminal possession of a weapon and possession of marijuana.

The Reno County Drug Unit served a search warrant on his home in the 100 block of George. They allegedly found two vacuum sealed bags with marijuana. They also claim to have found a digital scale with marijuana residue on it, two gallon size zip-close bags with green vegetation, as well as additional new bags. Officers say they also found a pair of brass knuckles in a dresser drawer.

The combined cases are scheduled for a preliminary hearing in front of Magistrate Judge Randy McEwen.

Jiles was arrested on Sept. 20 of last year and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to package, personal use drug paraphernalia and no tax stamp. He’s accused of having more than 450 grams of marijuana, as well as packaging materials.

That case is scheduled for a pretrial in front of Judge Tim Chambers, following the preliminary hearing.

As always, all scheduled hearings are subject to change.
