The new Reno County sales tax numbers show the county is well ahead of last year in collections which is good news. The numbers show an increase in money the county collected, not only over last month, but also for the same month last year.

According to the figures released by County Treasure Clark Miller, the county brought in 359-thousand 508-dollars, compared with last month when the county collected 352-thousand, 682-dollars, and the 341-thousand, 900-dollars for the month of November, last year.

So far, the county has brought in 3-million, 735-thousand, 578-dollars for the year, and with only one month left look to be on track to beat last year in sales tax collections. They would only need just over 280-thousand to match last years numbers.

The sales tax number for November represent September sales which is when the Kansas State Fair was in town and that no doubt helped with the increase.
