HAYS, Kan. — A Hays man is facing an attempted kidnapping charge after an alleged domestic incident at an apartment in the 100 block of West Fourth Street.

According to Lt. Brandon Wright of the Hays Police Department, James L. Neil, 36, Hays, allegedly broke into the residence at approximately 4 a.m. Jan. 24 and attempted to drag his girlfriend from an apartment.

Wright said a third party called the police.

Neil was charged with attempted kidnapping, aggravated battery, domestic battery and possession of drug paraphernalia.
