CHICAGO (IL) – Illinois-Chicago has chosen Steve McClain as its men’s basketball coach, according to multiple reports Saturday.

UIC is expected to make an announcement Monday morning, with a news conference to follow Wednesday.

McClain has been an assistant at Indiana under Tom Crean for five seasons and was 157-115 in nine seasons as head coach at Wyoming, which he led to one NCAA tournament and three NIT appearances. He also was an assistant for three years at Colorado.

McClain led HCC to its second NJCAA National Championship in 1994 and was an assistant to Dave Farrar when HCC won its first NJCAA title in 1988.
